Ready To Rumble

pow! wham!

The classic fight scenes between the Dynamic Duo and Gotham’s notorious villains were an iconic, colorful depiction of graphic text spelling out the many sounds created as Batman’s fists slam into the nose of a foe. To help celebrate the 80th anniversary of the creation of Batman, we were brought on to help DC and AT&T create Rogues Gallery Rumble, an immersive experience that had fans boxing it out with the likes of the Joker and the Riddler, complete with sound effects and of course huge graphic text.

This event was one part of The Batman Experience, a 4-day pop-up event held at the future site of the Comic-Con Museum in San Diego’s Balboa Park, very close to the Comic-Con Convention.

From the designing of the space to the construction of the set and all the tech in between, we utilized several different aspects of our own diversely talented group of rogues.

We custom programmed software to integrate with a series of accelerometers and the projection and sound systems, displaying the coordinated graphics and simultaneous sound effects every time the rigged punching bag was whacked.

The experience proved to be a great success and had many fans coming back for more.

“Virtually everyone on the ground was delighted and addicted to the interactive punching bag that SCPS over-delivered on. It was a fan and family favorite for sure.”
